33 Kooyongkoot was a complete roof replacement the perimeter was surrounded with quickstage scaffold making sure to keep the garden as close to original condition as possible, as the client had fully formed gardens once scaffold was installed the original spanish slate roof tiles were removed along with the battens, the old insulation and metal attachments.

The roof was leveled adjusted and repaired wherever necessary All Metal was replaced for new colorbond, All chimneys were repaired sealed and re-pointed to match all cappings in colour.
Gable walls were ground back to suit the new slate and battens install and they were corrected as the original work was uneven.
Then new Canadian Glendyne slate was installed using copper clouts.
All hips were sealed with a custom contemporary look capping finish in place of the original mitred hips and Lead Ridge cappings all Gables were Sealed with high quality membrane to ensure roof was sealed from vermin.
Two sections of this roof had solar panels getting installed, so slate was going to be too much trouble.
So. to make this work we had to make use of the Barrington slate tilesl which are an imitation slate lookalike that passes all Heritage guidelines and blends in beautifully with the traditional slate. With this product we were able to install brackets for the solar panel.
