We had the pleasure of undertaking major preservation works on this beautiful piece of history, we got to stay on site for the duration of our time there.
We removed approximately half of the roof slate and battens to find some of the most impressive craftmanship that todays standards cannot meet.
Approximately 80% of the original slate was saved, which is proof that high quality slate like the Welsh slate here, can last lifetimes proving slate to be the king of the roofing world.
All timber battens were replaced and insulation installed for the first time in its life, making it extra cozy by the fire after the days work.
All slate lost was strategically replaced by removing hidden areas on roof with colorbond roof sheets.
All slate was reinstated with new nails, valley gutters and flashings and capping was replaced for new as works progressed.
This was a memorable experience.
